Eton Travel Update - Thursday 13th June 12:30 GMT

Alitalia strike planned for Friday has been deferred till thursday July, 18. But the Florence Airport strike is from 12-4PM on the 14th July. Check with Eton Travel for up to date Travel information on these strikes.
 

Eton Travel Update - Wednesday 12th June 10:00 GMT

The SNCTA union, which represents the majority of striking air traffic controllers, announced that it would reduce the length of its industrial action by one day. Airlines were confident they could return to a normal flight schedule on 13 June

There are a number of current and potential strikes through Europe this week.

At the moment we are monitoring the following: 

11 – 12June – Air Transport Unions strike in France 

12 – 14June – SNCF specific strike in France 

12 June – pan European Air Traffic control affecting (currently) France, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Rep, Portugal, Austria and Belgium 

14 June – AZ airlines strike in Italy 

There may also be a knock on affect in other countries including Spain.

Eton Travel Update - Monday 10th June 9:30 GMT

The UNSA, CGT, CFDT and Sud unions representing SNCF drivers are scheduled to strike from 19:00 local time on 12 June to protest against the government's decision to reform the rail sector. Unions representing ground staff and cabin crew employed by the Italian national air carrier Alitalia are scheduled to launch a 24-hour strike on 14 June. Please contact Eton Travel for more information.
 

Eton Travel Update - Electronic Visa (ETA) for Travel to Turkey  

The Turkish Government has introduced a web-based visa issuance system. The ETA is an electronic authorisation from the government to enter Turkey,

for touristic or business purposes. It is the equivalent to a visa, but no stamp or label is placed in the passport. The e-Visa application can be downloaded

from www.evisa.gov.tr with online payment taken. For more information to see which countries are eligible to apply for e-Visa or for more details on this,
