Possible Disruption to Travel in Belgium due to Strike Action (30 Jan 2012)

Travellers may experience disruption to travel in Belgium on 30 January 2012, due to strike action from three large trade unions.  The strike is set to last for 24 hours and is in protest against new social reforms proposed by the government.  Flights to and from airports in Belgium may be affected and travellers are advised to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport.  Eurostar and regional train services may also be disrupted.  If the strike goes ahead, Eurostar intend to run a limited train service to and from Lille with onward bus connections to and from Brussels.  Travellers are recommended to allow extra time for their journeys in case of delays.  We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you advised of any updates.  For further information, please visit the Brussels Airport and Eurostar websites or contact your Eton Travel team for advice or assistance.
